You don’t need a lot of space or equipment to train well at home. Start with a few versatile basics and add more as your routine grows.
1. A good exercise mat

A non-slip mat protects your joints and floor during bodyweight exercises, stretching and yoga. Thicker mats are more comfortable for floor work; thinner mats feel more stable for standing poses.
2. Resistance bands
Bands are inexpensive, portable and great for warm-ups, mobility work and strength training. A set with different resistance levels lets you progress over time.
3. Dumbbells
A pair of dumbbells covers presses, rows, squats, lunges and more. Start with a weight you can lift with good form for 10–12 repetitions.
4. Skipping rope

Skipping is one of the simplest ways to add cardio and improve footwork and coordination.
5. Plan your space and stay safe
- Clear enough floor space to move freely in every direction.
- Warm up before each session and cool down afterwards.
- Focus on form before adding weight, and consult a qualified trainer or doctor if you have an injury or health condition.
